About Us

Happily based out of Chico, California, we’ve committed to doing everything with love. We’ve hand-scraped, painted, glued, hammered, sawed, plumbed, wired — the list goes on — here in house. Lovebird Coffee Company aims to be old-school in the best way, and have a good time while we’re at it.

Crafting nostalgia in every sip, our vintage trailer offers a unique, female-owned coffee experience. Our goals are to serve exceptional coffee, continuously foster community connections and persist with ever-improving our efforts in sustainability and philanthropy.

Meet the Lovebirds!

Rebecca Turri, Founder of Lovebird Coffee Company

Rebecca made the jump from Los Angeles to Chico to pursue her education in 2016 and has called it home ever since! She was heavily involved in the business and sales community at Chico State and earned her Business Management Degree in early 2021. Post graduation, she found herself immersed in a fast-paced Silicon Valley tech startup. Following a mass company-wide layoff in late 2022, her husband David encouraged her to follow her passion for business entrepreneurship. Named after Rebecca and David, Lovebird Coffee Company was born over road trip conversation.

Kennedy Johnston, Director of Culinary & Food Services

With a Degree in Family and Consumer Sciences and an emphasis in Nutrition and Dietetics, it’s no wonder why Kennedy is our Director of Culinary & Food Services! Since graduating from CSU Northridge in 2018, she has worked as a Registered Dietitian in various capacities across the West Coast – hospitals, rehab clinics, private practices and community events. She’s passionate about sustainability, recipe development and the science of food. A long-time friend of Rebecca’s, and a deep fondness for Chico, Kennedy made the move to Northern California earlier this year to help bring Lovebird to life!

David Turri, Head of Construction Management

David’s been a Chico local for the majority of his life, and is no stranger to entrepreneurship. David has worked in various construction backgrounds for over twenty years, and for the last fifteen has owned and operated his own businesses. In recent years, David has been hard at work alongside his brother and father running Connect Energy Mechanical here in Chico, specializing in electrical and HVAC work. He’s technologically-forward and has been an instrumental part in the development of Lovebird Coffee’s demolition and resurrection.
